Semantic Urban Elements: Linking Urban Analytics, Design, and Usage for Cyber-Physical Cities

Dense and Green Cities

  • The DEN Singapore team has been awarded a prestigious Cities of Tomorrow (CoT) research grant of approximately S$2.75 million for its project titled “Urban Ecological Corridors”. The research is set to commence with a kick-off meeting at the Urban Redevelopment Authority in early February and will span three years.
  • Thomas and Sri have been invited by NParks to participate in the upcoming CoT Vertical 5 grant call under the “City in Nature” initiative.
  • The DEN Singapore team's research titled “Harnessing street shade to mitigate heat stress: An in-situ parallel investigation under extreme heat conditions in tropical Singapore” was published in the Science of the Total Environment journal.

Circular Future Cities

  • On January 7th, Wanyu Pei delivered a presentation titled “Embodied Carbon Assessment and Building Material Stock Analysis in Circular Urban Development: A Model-Driven Approach for Data-Scarce Scenarios” at the 10th International Young Scholar Forum of Tongji University, Frontiers in Architecture.
  • Three conference papers co-authored by Wanyu Pei and Rudi Stouffs have been accepted by the 30th Annual Conference for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA 2025).

Engagement Platform

Nicolo has been visiting Singapore this week to discuss and define the roadmap for the integration of the DUCT of Cooling Singapore in FCL.

It was also a good opportunity to catch up with the Singapore Engagement Platform Team and review the last details of the implementation of the FCL Chatbot, which is planned go live at the beginning of February.
