We are thrilled to announce that Future Cities Laboratory Global (FCL Global) has been selected to exhibit at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia—one of the most prestigious architectural events in the world!

At this year’s Biennale, FCL Global will present two panel-based installations:

PERSPECTIVE – This exhibition explores diverse urban contexts, from rural communities and structured low-rise landscapes to rapidly evolving metropolises. It examines the pressing challenges and transformative opportunities that will shape the future of our cities.

DESIGNING RESILIENT BLUE-GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE – this exhibit reflects on our design and research activities in the peri-urban landscape of Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The overarching theme of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective," calls for a rethinking of the built environment by bringing together different forms of intelligence. The Latin word Intelligens contains gens—meaning “people”—urging us to go beyond the current emphasis on AI and digital technologies and embrace a broader, collective intelligence.

For FCL Global, this is an incredible opportunity to showcase our multi-scale, multi-disciplinary, and diverse research programme on a global stage.
