Module Updates and News

Semantic Urban Elements: Linking Urban Analytics, Design, and Usage for Cyber-Physical Cities

  • A conference paper led by Youlong and co-authored with NUS collaborators and Filip titled ""A Bayesian Spatiotemporal Framework for Explaining Bus Ridership Dynamics in Singapore"" was accepted to the 19th International Conference on Computational Urban Planning and Urban Management (CUPUM). 
  • A conference paper by Ayda Grisiute, Martin Raubal and Pieter Herthogs titled ""3D Land Use Planning: Making Future Cities Measurable with Ontology-Driven Representations of Planning Regulations"" was accepted to the AGILE 2025 conference. This is the final paper resulting from the Cities Knowledge Graph project. "

Circular Future Cities

  • On March 10th, CFC had its yearly Advisory Board meeting, where CFC researchers presented their latest results and the Advisory Board members shared their perspective on the applicability of the results and potential future work.

Adaptive Mobility, Land Use and Infrastructure

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Prateek Bansal, NUS PI for the Adaptive Mobility Infrastructure and Land-Use (AMIL) module at Future Cities Laboratory Global, was recently invited to give talks and attend seminars at four Chinese universities in Beijing: Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Jiao Tong University (BJTU), and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). He shared the module's research on how urban mobility and infrastructure planning can adapt to changing demands, and how to combine passively collected data (e.g., transit smart card data and cellular trace data) with survey data to create real-time digital mobility twins that help improve planning decisions. This research exchange trip strengthens collaboration between FCL Global and Chinese institutions on sustainable and data-driven urban mobility solutions.
  • ETH PI Prof Bryan Adey and NUS PI Prof Prateek Bansal met with local stakeholders (LTA) on Feb 27th for updating on the proposal updates while meeting with interested groups
  • All research fronts are proceeding well, with three papers being currently under peer-reveiwing processes.
